World Day for Safety and Health at Work – April 28

On April 28, we join the global community in observing the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, a day dedicated to promoting safe and healthy workplaces and honoring the memory of those who have lost their lives or suffered illness due to work-related accidents and diseases.

This day, initiated by international trade unions, reminds us of the critical importance of prevention and the shared responsibility to create environments where every worker can thrive safely.

At FOHNEU, we highlight the indispensable role of Occupational Health Nurses in achieving this mission. OHNs are at the forefront of workplace health, combining clinical expertise with preventive strategies to reduce risks, manage occupational illnesses, and promote overall well-being. Their work ensures that safety is not just a policy but a daily practice embedded in organizational culture.
As we reflect on this day, let us reaffirm our commitment to:

  • Preventing workplace injuries and illnesses
  • Supporting health and safety education
  • Empowering Occupational Health Nurses as key advocates for worker health

Together, we can build safer workplaces and healthier futures.
