The Summit was hosted by the Irish Nurses & Midwifes Organisation (INMO) in Dublin Castle and attended by FOHNEU treasurer Eileen Sykes.
The Key note address was given by the Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs & Inclusion – László Andor. A report of progress on implementing the Sharps Directive by member states was given by representatives from the UK, Spain, Romania and Bulgaria. The European Biosafety Network also launched the “Toolkit for Implementation of the European Directive on Prevention from Sharp Injuries” at the Summit. The 3rd Summit will be held in London in 2012.
